Jim Bennett is an artist, author, and teacher whose prolific career has spanned five decades.  Retiring in 2015 from full-time teaching, he has created notable works of arts in calligraphy, illustration, murals, and portraiture.  In 2020, he focused on drawing which included exercises using a minimal number of lines to produce dynamic compositions. His new series of paintings, Luminous Streams – Variations on Four Lines, employ that technique and depict flowing water and blowing wind, musical rhythms, dance, plant and flower growth, breathing, heartbeat, seasons, and astronomical patterns. “I was inspired by a dream,” relays Mr. Bennett. “Perhaps even lost primordial memories – in short, the rhythms of life itself.”
