An Uncommon Angle
I think we all often fall into a routine of how we see things in life. Ordinary everyday elements, objects, and places can become virtually invisible to our daily perception.
I wanted to challenge myself and look at things not as just an ordinary object, but a potential piece of extraordinary art or sculpture. To see it as an element, rich with beauty, texture, color, content and shape.
As a photographer, and also a trained graphic designer, I seek to combine both these disciplines in how I approach the familiar. I do this by working to incorporate a dynamic “graphic” design view, through positioning, focus and framing; carefully choosing what to include, or not, in the viewfinder prior to taking the image. And again, to see the object beyond the norm; to see it as art.
This gathering of images is not just about an uncommon angle as a perspective (literally) but, also the uncommon angle of an adjusted view point on the everyday.
It is my hope and desire to challenge you, the viewer, to be repositioned and allow yourself to see a “common” object from an “uncommon” angle
