Dave King

9 Vassar Street Hall Gallery – April 3, 2020 to May 29, 2020

Dave King is a local area photographer. His photographs primarily express the scenic splendor presented in the flora, fauna and rural landscapes of the Hudson Valley, as well as it’s various landmarks and famous locations. From bridges, buildings, lighthouses and historic buildings, to the quaint main streets of it’s towns and villages, photographic opportunities abound. He also loves to photograph the urban scenery and varied sights that exist in New York City where he grew up.

“I love to express the beauty and diversity of all that surrounds me, by capturing that one special moment of time, which becomes the composition of each photograph. The moment stands still becoming singular and more or less eternal. In an effort to achieve a measure of uniqueness to these expressions, I arrived at the process of sublimation. Sublimation enables me to express my photographic images on a variety of substrates which present a somewhat fresh view of those images. In my work shown here, I used this process to present my images on aluminum metal panels. I hope the viewers enjoy the perspective.”

Dave’s photographs have been exhibited in several Hudson Valley galleries including Bannerman Island Gallery, Cunneen-Hackett Art Center, Millbrook Winery’s Art In The Loft, Art Mid Hudson Gallery, Barrett Art Center as well as displayed in local area businesses.
