High Falls Road by Ellen Perantoni

Ellen Perantoni, a renowned artist listed in AskArt, is a celebrant of Hudson River School painting who has studied at the Woodstock School of Art taking classes with master painter Hong-Nian Zhang, the Thomas Cole House and Olana, home of Frederick E. Church.  She is an NYU graduate whose artistic sensibility and technique sojourns through the gateway of the actual into the realm of the spiritual and inspirational meditation.  Her upcoming exhibit at the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center will encompass prints and oil paintings inspired by views of the Hudson River, pastoral vistas, and the panoramas, waterfalls and intimate forest scenes of the Catskills as well as paintings of the red rock region of Sedona, Arizona.  “I am fascinated by transitions in the weather and time of day which can be so dramatic like a thunderstorm approaching on a summer afternoon, a sunset, the atmospheric change of seasons or from rivers to higher elevations in the Catskills,” she states. “I hike and drive in search of inspiring views to obtain my goal of art that employs realism as a gateway to the sublime and I often eliminate man-made features from the scenes I paint to revert to the natural state of things.”  A participant in numerous regional and national juried exhibitions, Ms. Perantoni’s work has been acquired by the Whistler House Museum of Art in Lowell, MA and private collectors. https://www.artwanted.com/EllenPerantoni
